Metro Vancouver, Fraser Valley school snow closures

As snow falls across the Lower Mainland, many students are likely eagerly awaiting word of school closures.

The below school closures have been announced for the Lower Mainland Wednesday. Check this page for updates from across Metro Vancouver as they come in. 

Abbotsford

All public schools are closed Wednesday, Nov. 30.

St. James & St. Ann’s Catholic Elementary School is closed.

All Hand in Hand Child Care programs are closed Wednesday.

Burnaby

All public schools are open Wednesday.

Our Lady of Mercy is closed.

Chilliwack

All Chilliwack School District public schools are closed Nov. 30 for students and staff, including daycares, preschools, and all community-use of property. The district says its emergency staffing plan is in effect.

École La Vérendrye is closed Wednesday.

Coquitlam/Port Coquitlam/Port Moody

All public schools are open.

Greater Heights Learning Academy is closed.

Queen of All Saints is closed.

Delta

All public schools are open Wednesday.

Immaculate Conception School

Langley (township and city)

All public schools are closed.

The King’s School is closed.

École des Voyageurs is closed Wednesday.

Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows

All public schools are closed.

All Riverside Centre programs, including Continuing Education and Ridge Meadows College, are closed.

James Cameron School is closed Wednesday.

Mission

All public schools are closed.

Valley Christian is closed.

École des Deux-Rives is closed Wednesday.

New Westminster

All public schools are open Wednesday.

North Vancouver

All public schools are open Wednesday.

Richmond

All public schools are open Wednesday.

Choice School for Gifted Children is closed Wednesday.

Surrey and White Rock

All public schools are open Wednesday.

All schools across our district are OPEN today. Please take care driving/walking.

Guru Angad Dev (GAD) Elementary School in Surrey is closed Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Pacific Academy, K-12, in Surrey is closed Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Surrey Christian is closed Wednesday.

Sikh Academy’s campuses in Newton and Fleetwood are both closed Nov. 30.

Vancouver 

All public schools are open Wednesday.

The Vancouver School Board says if a district-wide closure happens, it will be decided before 7 a.m. on Tuesday.

West Vancouver 

All public schools are open Wednesday.

Other independent school closures

Independent Khalsa schools have announced their closures for Wednesday. This includes Khalsa School Newton Elementary, Khalsa School Old Yale Road Elementary, Khalsa Secondary School, and the Khalsa School of the Fraser Valley.

Post-secondary closures

UBC has cancelled in-person, on-campus morning classes starting before 1 p.m. at its Point Grey campus.

SFU’s Burnaby campus is closed until 10:30 a.m.

Langara College is open Wednesday.

VCC is open Wednesday.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) is closed.

Trinity Western is open Wednesday.

Capilano University is open Wednesday.
