BC Ferries has cancelled more than a dozen sailings between West Vancouver and Bowen Island Friday due to staffing issues.
All ferries between Horseshoe Bay and Snug Cove from 3:30 p.m. onwards have been affected because the ferry service has “been unsuccessful in securing the required number of crew to sail the Queen of Capilano.”
In a statement, BC Ferries says two 12-person water taxis have been found and will be providing a free service for the remainder of the day.
#ServiceNotice #HorseshoeBay #SnugCove As we have been unsuccessful in securing the required number of crew on the #QofCapilano, the earlier sailings at risk of cancellation today have been cancelled.

“We require a specific number of staff members on board the vessel to ensure the safety of our passengers in the unlikely event of an emergency and to comply with Transport Canada regulations. The decision to cancel a sailing in these circumstances is made when we have exhausted all options to find replacement staff,” BC Ferries said.
