Fatal Chilliwack shooting appears to be targeted: police

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called in after a man died Tuesday after a fatal shooting at a home in Chilliwack.
Chilliwack RCMP says just before 6 p.m. it received reports of gunshots at a home on Windsor Street near Yale Road.
Police say first responders found an unresponsive man with gunshot wounds, and he was taken to hospital where he later died.

No details about the victim have been released.
“Investigators are in the initial evidence gathering phase of this investigation. At this stage, this appears to be a targeted incident and it is not believed that there is a threat to the public at this time. Investigators are working to determine whether this death has any links to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” Mounties said in a statement.
