Shotgun, drugs, cash seized by Surrey Mounties

Surrey RCMP says it has found and seized a “significant” amount of drugs and cash, along with a loaded shotgun, at a home in Whalley Thursday.

Police say a search was executed at the home on Grosvenor Road near Larner Road, after a warrant was issued in what Mounties say is an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the neighbourhood.

Eight people were found at the home and were arrested at the time.

Mounties say they seized a loaded shotgun, seven airsoft guns, 1.4 kilograms of methamphetamine, 184 grams of Fentanyl, 110 grams of suspected cocaine, and over $7,000 in cash.

“Residents deserve to feel safe and secure in their neighborhoods,” Snr. Sgt. Nigel Pronger of Surrey RCMP’s Community Response Unit said. “If you observe suspicious activity, criminal behaviour, or something that negatively affects safety in our community, you are encouraged to call police. Our goal is to address safety concerns and ensure our neighbourhoods are a great place to live and work for everybody.”

Police say one person was held in custody for breach of probation, while the other seven arrested were released pending further investigation.
