Richmond truck crash on Highway 99 leaves 1 dead

BC Highway Patrol is confirming one person died in a crash on Highway 99 in Richmond Tuesday morning.
Const. Mike Moore says a commercial vehicle and a “smaller flat-deck truck” collided just before 9 a.m. southbound between Blundell Road and Steveston Highway.

Highway patrol has taken over the investigation of the crash, but Moore says there is no indication of criminality as a contributing factor.
Highway 99 southbound is closed while police investigate. A time of re-opening is not yet determined.
