“The investigation has revealed that one residence in the area was hit by gunfire. The residence was occupied at the time of the incident but no gunshot injuries occurred. The victims are cooperating with the police investigation,” Snr. Sgt. Scott Grimmer said in a release.

Police add a car fire was then reported shortly after the initial shots along 104 Avenue near 144 Street. They’re now trying to determine whether the two incidents are related.

Mounties have not confirmed whether the shooting is linked to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.

While the investigation is in its early stages, police say they do not believe it is related to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team’s investigation into a death near Maple Ridge Secondary on March 4.

Police are urging anyone who has information and/or home security footage from the area to police please call the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.
