Terry Fox Secondary School in Port Coquitlam was placed into lockdown Thursday morning after what police say was a “telephone threat” involving the school.
The Coquitlam RCMP says officers responded to the school just before 8:30 a.m., where police identified and located two teens who they believe to be the source of the threat.
Cpl. Alexa Hodgins says there is no continued threat to the school, staff or teachers, or the public. Classes have since resumed as normal.

“We take any threat to a school very seriously and will act accordingly,” said Hodgins. “As this report was received shortly before the beginning of the school day, it caused some concern as parents and students began arriving at the school with a heavy police presence. Coquitlam RCMP would like to thank the Coquitlam School District for their assistance in this matter and parents, staff, and students for their patience and understanding.”
Mounties are urging anyone with further information about the incident to contact the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2023-8878.
