B.C.-U.S. border wait times ease after Easter long weekend start

The B.C.-U.S. border wait times have eased after long delays Friday morning.

Those headed to the U.S. from the Lower Mainland saw major volume to start the Easter long weekend.

Traffic began to back up Friday morning, with massive backups reported at most of the crossings to start the day. In some cases, waits surpassed three hours.

However, as of 6:40 p.m., wait times have eased for both southbound and northbound traffic at the Peace Arch and Pacific Highway crossings with only a minimum wait time of 5-10 minutes. Both of these points of entry saw delays of more than three hours through the morning.

The Aldergrove and Sumas crossings are also seeing minimum delays. Waits at both points of entry are now between 5-10 minutes as of 6:40 p.m.
