The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is releasing more information about Thursday’s killing on the Sunshine Coast in hopes of advancing its investigation.
IHIT says 56-year-old Sechelt man Gregory Roy Sullivan was the victim of the shooting.
Police say officers were called to Birch Way in Halfmoon Bay just after 3:30 a.m. Thursday after reports of gunfire. Officers found Sullivan with gunshot wounds outside a home and he died from his injuries at the scene.

IHIT says two suspects were identified at the scene, and taken into custody.
“We are still in the evidence-gathering stages of the investigation,” Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said in a statement Saturday. “We’re asking anyone who had recent interactions with Mr. Sullivan to contact IHIT, as we build a timeline of events leading up to this tragedy.”
Anyone with information, who may have heard or witnessed the events, is urged to contact police by calling the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
Mounties say more information about the killing will be released as it becomes available.
