Mounties in Prince George say a home invasion that resulted in the death of a man has now become a homicide investigation.
In a news release, the Prince George RCMP says officers were called to a home in the area of Nicholson Street South and Kerr Street around 7:30 p.m. on June 19.
At the time, Mounties arrived to find a man and woman seriously hurt. The man has since died of his injuries, police say.
Police didn’t provide an update on the woman’s condition, but say she sustained severe injuries in the incident.

“We are once again appealing to the public to come forward with any information about the identities of the persons who entered the residence where the victim was located in the time before the home invasion occurred,” Corp. Jennifer Cooper said.
“If anyone has any surveillance or dash cam footage from the 300-block of Nicholson Street South between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., which shows persons or vehicles coming and going from the area, we encourage you to speak with an investigator by calling 250-561-3300.”
Mounties note the death marks the sixth murder in the city this year.
