Mounties say two people are dead after a motorcycle hit an SUV near Lytton, B.C. early Tuesday evening.
Members of Lillooet RCMP were called just after 6 p.m. to an area of Highway 1 between Lytton and Spences Bridge. Officers found two people who had been on the motorcycle seriously hurt.
Mounties say bystanders performed first-aid, but the pair were eventually pronounced dead.
Police say while “it is too early in the investigation to determine causal factors… early indications suggest that the motorcycle may have crossed the centre line where it impacted the SUV.”
At least one lane in the area remains closed, and police warn the other lane could see closures as they continue to investigate.
