If you gassed up your ride over the weekend in Metro Vancouver, you may have noticed a dip in prices at the pump.
Some stations across the region were posting a litre of regular for around $1.85.
According to GasBuddy, average retail prices around Vancouver have fallen 1.0 cent per litre in the past week, with the average hitting $1.91 for a litre of regular Sunday.
“This compares with the national average that has increased 0.3 c/L in the last week to 159.63 c/L,” GasBuddy said in its weekly fuel update Monday.

The drop over the weekend comes ahead of a possible increase this week, though GasBuddy doesn’t anticipate any drastic spikes.
“With oil prices rising to $75 per barrel last week, the highest level in months, the national average price of gasoline saw limited upward pressure, but that could change should oil prices remain elevated,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy.
“While we could see increases this week, I would expect them to be fairly mild, with the national average likely staying in the 153-163c/L range that we’ve been stuck in since April for the coming week and likely into next week as well. Economic data has been playing a larger than typical role in putting pressure on gas prices, with OPEC production cuts also a major factor.”
As of 8:30 a.m. Monday, GasBuddy’s website showed prices across B.C. were up 0.5 cents from Sunday’s average, and down 6.2 cents from June’s average of $1.89.
When compared to last year’s average, which GasBuddy says was a whopping $2.02 per litre, prices are currently down 19.4 cents.
B.C. has seen its fair share of record gas prices in recent years. Last year saw the highest ever, with the average for a litre of regular recorded at $2.23.
