Fire temporarily shuts major East Vancouver thoroughfare Wednesday morning

A fire in East Vancouver shut a major thoroughfare early Wednesday morning.

Nanaimo Street was temporarily closed to traffic between East Broadway and Grandview Highway until just after 8 a.m.

Calls to CityNews came in just after 5 a.m. reporting the road closure.

Renfrew Street or Victoria Drive can be taken as an alternate route as traffic is busy in the area.
