A shooting in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood early Wednesday morning has sent one person to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Surrey RCMP says just before 2 a.m., Mounties responded to reports of a driver in his vehicle “who sustained an injury consistent with a gun shot.”
The incident occurred at the intersection of 64 Avenue and 124 Street, police say, adding the man was taken to hospital.
Police have blocked 124 Street from 64 Avenue to Boundary Drive while they conduct their investigation.
“The investigation is in the early stages and police will remain on scene until such time the examination is complete,” Sgt. Martin Neveu said.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is being urged to call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502, and quote file number 2023-203334.
