Two separate major crashes in different parts of the Lower Mainland made Thursday morning’s commute a tough one.
A head-on collision along the Stanley Park Causeway created massive delays between Vancouver and the North Shore.
The crash happened just south of the Lions Gate Bridge in the southbound lanes. All southbound lanes were blocked, with the bridge and causeway down to a single alternating lane temporarily.
Traffic backed up heavily on both sides of the bridge.
Meanwhile, a rollover crash along Highway 1 in Abbotsford closed the highway eastbound temporarily. DriveBC says detours are now in place while a crash investigation occurs.
Westbound traffic was unaffected.
The incident happened just east of the Whatcom Road exit, by Cole Road.
