Man injured after a fire at Vancouver dump

A man was taken to hospital Wednesday after a fire at the Vancouver South Transfer Station.

The Vancouver Fire Rescue Services says the incident happened around 12 p.m.

The man was reportedly trying to extinguish a fire on top of his truck when he fell, VFRS explains, however, the extent of his injuries is unclear.


The cause of the fire was unclear at the time.

The City of Vancouver temporarily closed the transfer station and reopened it a short time later.
