Pedestrian hospitalized after being hit by vehicle in Maple Ridge

The Ridge Meadows RCMP says a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Maple Ridge Thursday morning.

The incident happened along Dewdney Trunk Road near Laity Street around 8:10 a.m.

Mounties explained BC Emergency Health Services took the pedestrian to hospital in stable condition.

Police are asking drivers and pedestrians to avoid the area. Dewdney Trunk Road is closed in both directions between 210 Street and 216 Street while police investigate.

Mounties do not have an estimated time of reopening.
