Playland’s ThunderVolt ride set to open this weekend

You can find out this weekend when the PNE launches its newest thrill ride at PlayLand — the ThunderVolt launch coaster.
Described as Canada’s fastest electric launch coaster, it thrusts you up a steep incline and then down an 18-meter drop before swooping around the rest of the track.
Announced in November 2022, the ThunderVolt was built by Italian company Zamperla, located in the place of the now-retired Corkscrew coaster.
The TunderVolt is the largest investment the PNE has made on a single ride, clocking in at around $17 million.
It opens to the public on Saturday.
