Motorcyclist dies after being hit by car in Vancouver’s West Side

A 27-year-old man has died after being hit by a car while he was riding his motorcycle in Vancouver Thursday night.

In a statement, the Vancouver Police Department says the rider was travelling south on Arbutus Street near West 21st Street just before 9:30 p.m. when he “collided” with a grey Honda CR-V.

“Despite life-saving efforts by bystanders and paramedics, the driver of the motorcycle died at the scene,” the VPD explained.

Police say the driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and was then taken to hospital.

Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to call the VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
