Coquitlam RCMP finds drugs, weapons in stolen car

The RCMP says a call about a suspicious vehicle led to the seizure of multiple items, including drugs and weapons, in Coquitlam earlier this month.

Mounties explain the report came in on Aug. 6, saying a vehicle was in the underground parking lot of an apartment building in the area of North Road and Smith Street.

Officers determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen from a neighbouring community. During a search of the car, police say they found drugs, stolen goods, and weapons.

Some of the drugs seized include fentanyl, psilocybin, as well as suspected methamphetamine and heroin, while the items included a bike, scooter, tools, sports cards, and high-end purses.

Meanwhile, police say they also found identification with various names, bear spray, and a BB gun with ammo.

No arrests have been announced.

The Coquitlam RCMP is asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 604-945-1550 and quote file number 2024-20503.
