The BC Highway Patrol confirmed two vehicles were involved in the crash. A “small car” ended up over the median, and a “full-size van” rolled and caught fire in the eastbound fast lane.
Earlier Friday morning, Mounties said no one was injured in the crash. However, in an update before noon, the BCHP said, “Our officers are working hard to determine the cause of the incident and we can confirm that there were injuries.”
BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) says two ambulances attended the scene.
“Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” said BC EHS Public Information Officer Rachelle Bown.
Shortly before 11 a.m., DriveBC said both lanes were fully cleared.
