Shots fired at Surrey home, no injuries reported

The Surrey Police Service is investigating a shooting in the city’s Newton neighbourhood on Sunday night.

The SPS says that just after 1 a.m. on Monday, a resident of the home on 128th Street, across the road from Kwantlan Polytechnic University, came home and found “several gunshot holes” on the side of their house.

“The shooting is suspected of happening sometime between 10 pm on January 5th and 1 am on January 6th. No one was home at the time of the shooting and there are currently no suspect descriptions,” Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said in a release.

The SPS says the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operational Support Unit’s General Investigation Unit has taken the lead in the investigation.
