Mounties ask public for help after incident near Maple Ridge high school

Police are investigating an incident that took place near Garibaldi Secondary School in Maple Ridge, and they are asking the public for help identifying a suspect and his vehicle.
Shortly before noon on Wednesday, the Ridge Meadows RCMP received a report of a man flashing a weapon at students near the school on Wednesday shortly before noon.
“Police learned that there was a verbal altercation between the driver and students,” police said in a news release.
“It was reported that the driver had displayed a weapon to the students before returning to his vehicle.”
The vehicle is described as a two-toned grey Range Rover with a black driver’s side quarter panel vent and black wheels.
The driver is described as 5’10” and 175-180 pounds with a short stubble beard and dark hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black Mooseknuckle brand jacket with gold trim and black pants.
Anyone with any information or dash cam or surveillance footage from the area between 11:45 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. is asked to call the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251 and reference file RM2025-2285.
