Overnight shooting at Abbotsford home not reported until morning

Abbotsford police are investigating after shots were fired at a home in the South Poplar neighbourhood early Tuesday morning.

The Abbotsford Police Department (AbbyPD) says witnesses reported hearing gunshots around shortly before 1 a.m. on Feb. 11, but did not contact police.

Instead, AbbyPD was called around 8 a.m., when the resident discovered bullet holes in their home.

Investigators are now working to discover the motive for the shooting and asking the public to report any suspicious activity in the area.

“Anyone with information about this incident or who may have dash camera footage from the area between 12:00 am and 1:00 am on February 11th is asked to contact AbbyPD.”
