In a statement, the VPD says Hayden McCorriston obtained statutory release and is now living at a halfway house.

The 30-year-old was convicted of sexually assaulting multiple women in Burnaby and Vancouver in 2022, the VPD says.

He is currently serving a two-year, three-month prison sentence for those offences.

“Vancouver Police believe McCorriston poses significant risk of harm to the community and is a high risk to commit further physical and sexual violence,” Sgt. Steve Addison said.

McCorriston has been released under conditions that include not consuming drugs or alcohol, a curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., not entering a licensed establishment, and reporting all relationships with women — intimate or platonic — to his parole supervisor.

The VPD says its High Risk Offender Unit is working with Correctional Service Canada to monitor McCorriston.

“Anyone who observes him breaching his release conditions is asked to contact police immediately,” Addison said.
