Large plume of smoke visible near warehousing facility in North Burnaby

A warehouse fire caused a huge plume of smoke in the area near the Sperling-Burnaby Lake Station SkyTrain station.
The Burnaby Fire Department says that 40 of its firefighters were on scene.

The Burnaby RCMP says it broke out around 3 p.m.
1130 NewsRadio received multiple calls from listeners about the huge plume of smoke in the area.
Metro Vancouver says it is monitoring the air quality in the area.
1130 NewsRadio reached out to the Burnaby Fire Department and the Burnaby RCMP for more information.
Police confirmed that it was directing traffic in the area due to the fire and that road closures were in effect in the area.
