Police in Abbotsford have arrested a man who was seen walking around a residential neighbourhood, wielding a spear-like weapon Tuesday.

Officers responded to the incident near Blueridge Drive and Townline Road around 3:30 p.m. and apprehended the man shortly after.

Police say the man was walking around with a large knife attached to a pole.

Officers took the man, who they think was experiencing a state of psychosis, into custody under the Mental Health Act.

No injuries were reported.

Police are highlighting the importance of reporting suspicious and concerning behaviour, such as this one.
