Second pedestrian hit in Maple Ridge in two days: RCMP

The Ridge Meadows RCMP is investigating a second crash involving a pedestrian in just as many days this week.
Mounties say the driver of a vehicle struck a 45-year-old woman on 227th Street near the Eric Langton Elementary School on Tuesday around 7:30 p.m.

Mounties say the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
The Ridge Meadows RCMP is asking witnesses to contact officers at 604-463-6251.



On Monday, a driver struck and injured a 91-year-old riding a mobility scooter in Maple Ridge..
The victim of Monday’s collision remains in the hospital in stable but serious condition.
“While our thoughts are with the victims and everyone affected by these unfortunate incidents, we also want to encourage our community to take this moment to reflect on road safety,” Ridge Meadows RCMP Insp. Martin Guay said.
“Even small, simple actions can make a big difference in keeping yourself and others safe.”
