The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it is asking the public for help identifying two suspects in a bear-spray assault in South Surrey on May 31.
The SPS says a teen boy was sitting on a bench outside of a business, located on Croydon Drive near 157 Street, around 4 p.m., when he was approached by an unknown youth.
The suspect allegedly sprayed him with bear spray while another youth recorded the incident on his cell phone.

The teen who sprayed the bear spray is described as being around 5’4″ tall with shaggy brown hair, wearing a light hoodie, a red shirt, black shorts, black shoes, and a cross-body bag.
Police say he may have been pushed around in a blue shopping cart.
The youth who recorded the incident is described as being 5’6″ tall with short black curly hair, wearing a black t-shirt with white designs, black pants with large white designs, white shoes, and a cross-body bag. His right hand appeared to have been wrapped in medical tape.
The victim is 5’6″ tall with black curly hair, wearing a black hoodie, light blue jeans, and black clog-style shoes.
“SPS is providing the victim’s description in the hopes that any witnesses may remember the incident,” police said.
“Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact the SPS non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 and quote file number 2026-54451 (SP) or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).”
