Car fire cleared after closing Hwy 91 westbound in Richmond

A car fire on Highway 91 in Richmond closed all westbound lanes just before the Westminster Highway exit Friday morning.
DriveBC showed the incident in the left lanes, with thick black smoke wafting into the sky.

Just before 9:30 a.m., DriveBC confirmed the fire had been extinguished, however, massive delays are expected.
The incident cleared around 10:30 a.m.
Traffic detoured down Westminster Highway, but Highway 99 and the Massey Tunnel can be taken as an alternate route.
