Coquitlam police seek hit-and-run suspect

After two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle near a shopping centre, Coquitlam police are searching for the driver who fled the scene.

On Friday, at around 10:30 a.m., police say they received a report of a hit-and-run that took place on Como Lake Avenue near the Como Lake Village mall.

Two pedestrians were walking on the sidewalk when they were struck by a vehicle exiting the shopping centre parking lot, police say.

The RCMP says the pedestrians did not sustain serious injuries.

Now, police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who fled the scene following the incident.

The suspect is described by police as a woman with shoulder-length, brown and curly hair.

Police add the suspect’s vehicle is an older, boxy model of a dark blue Jeep.
