Cole is a graduate of Vancouver Island University with a degree in journalism and creative writing.
After working as an editor of the Ladysmith Chronicle, he went on to become a provincial reporter with the Black Press digital news desk. He has worked with several community publications in B.C., including the Kelowna Capital News, the Nanaimo News Bulletin, the Cowichan Valley Citizen, and Arbutus Magazine.
Cole discovered his love for broadcast at 101.7 CHLY FM, Nanaimo's campus-community radio station where he hosted multiple shows for six years and spent two years on the board of directors.
He has a passion for telling the stories of B.C.'s unique individuals and under-represented groups.
When he is not chasing a story, he's in the mountains, on his bike, or spending time with his wonderful wife and their cat Cookie.
