The Kings are back! After a ten year hiatus, the JUNO Award winning band, The Philosopher Kings is returning to the Canadian music landscape. The highly anticipated return of the cool-groove alternative pop band starts with the release a brand new single followed by their Philosopher Kings Live Canadian tour. They Philosopher Kings live in concert tour will kick off in Halifax and the band will travel across the country, wrapping up in Vancouver.
The band formed in 1992 and saw great radio and commercial success in the late 90’s. Their career spans well over two decades and has produced an impressive catalogue which includes such hits as; “I Am the Man”, “Cry”, “Hurts to Love You”, “Charms” and “Castles in the Sand”. Their debut , self-titled album The Philosopher Kings (1994) became a certified gold record, and they succeeded that with a Platinum album, Famous, Rich and Beautiful (1997) which earned them several JUNO nominations and a JUNO Award for Best New Group. They are renowned for their incredible live performances and this tour will be no exception. Emerging Canadian artists Jonathan Roy and Jordan Alexander will join The Philosopher Kings on their tour in select cities.
