Fatal motorcycle crash on Pitt River Bridge

A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a crane truck on the Pitt River Bridge Monday.
The Coquitlam RCMP says motorcyclist hit the vehicle, which was headed toward Pitt Meadows, around 6:30 p.m.
The incident shut down the bridge for some time.
“Eastbound access to the bridge has been closed off at multiple points and the eastbound lanes of the Pitt River Bridge are expected to remain closed for several hours for the investigation,” Cst. Deanna Law with Coquitlam RCMP told CityNews.
The crossing has since reopened.

Police say the BC Ambulance Service was called to the scene, where the death of the motorcyclist was confirmed.
According to Mounties, Coquitlam CCIT and ICARS have been notified and are looking into what happened.
Mounties say the driver of the crane truck is cooperating with the investigation.
