Two people have been hospitalized after a fire broke out at a home in Surrey Monday afternoon.
Surrey RCMP confirmed it along with Surrey Fire Department responded to a report of a fire on 75a Avenue near 125 Street in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood just before 4 p.m.
Mounties say when they arrived, the home was fully engulfed by the blaze and fire crews were on scene.

A man was found with minor injuries, and another had serious injuries. Both were taken to hospital for medical care, Surrey RCMP says.
Mounties believe the fire is not suspicious, and “appears to be accidental,” but say fire investigators are still working to find the exact reason for the fire.
“Officers are still on scene conducting interviews and neighborhood canvassing,” police said in a statement. “Fire crews are also on scene ensuring the fire is fully extinguished. It is expected that traffic in the area will be disrupted for some time.”
Mounties are asking that anyone with further information call the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2022-142563.
