Coquitlam house fire shows massive explosion

A fire in Coquitlam Sunday night engulfed a home in the Eagle Ridge neighbourhood.

Coquitlam RCMP says it was called to help the Coquitlam Fire Department around 7:30 p.m. near Shale Court. When crews got there, an explosion was heard coming from the fire.

In a video posted to social media site Reddit, a massive ball of fire can be seen coming from the house during the explosion.

Mounties say the family was able to evacuate from the home without any injuries.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
