A stabbing in Langley’s Aldergrove neighbourhood last month, at what police describe as a car race, left a man seriously injured.
The incident happened in the early hours of Feb. 18, when the Langley RCMP received reports that a man had been stabbed in the area of 275th Street and 53rd Avenue.
The stabbing allegedly happened at an “unsanctioned car meet and car race,” Mounties said in an update Monday.
Const. Prrabjit Chatha shared that the incident appears to have been targeted, and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
Police say a man has since been arrested in relation to the stabbing.
“Langley RCMP would like to encourage the public to report any unsanctioned car meets or car races and does not encourage the public to attend these car meets or car races,” Chatha said.
Mounties are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
