According to the West Vancouver Police Department, three riders were travelling west when the lead rider was “involved in a single-vehicle incident.”

BC Emergency Health Services and the West Vancouver Fire Department also attended with police, but despite their best efforts, the rider died at the scene.

The Lower Mainland’s Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) is helping the WVPD with its investigation.

“As this incident occurred late at night with no witnesses, we are asking anyone with relevant video footage or additional information to reach out to us at 604-925-7300 and quote file #24-10558,” said Sgt. Chris Bigland.

Drivers were being asked to avoid the area, however, Marine Drive reopened to traffic just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

“West Vancouver Police Department extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of those impacted.”
