VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in after a woman’s body was found in Pitt Meadows Sunday afternoon.
In a release Monday, IHIT say it’s unclear how a woman died after her body was found in a field off Old Dewdney Trunk Road, near McKechnie Road, around 12:40 p.m.
IHIT doesn’t believe this is linked to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict. The B.C. Coroner’s Service has also been called in.

The homicide team has asked that anyone with information contact Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.
Meanwhile, IHIT has confirmed an arrest has been made in relation to the July murder of 44-year old Christopher Hood.
Twenty-one year old Kevin Wesley of Abbotsford has been charged with first degree murder, as result of “significant case developments.”

Early last month, Abbotsford Police were called after the discovery of a body in the parking lot area of Clearbrook Park, near Clinton Avenue and Sparwood Street, in Abbotsford.

“This arrest is a result of the dedication and perseverance of the investigating officers and is a testament to the partnership IHIT has with the Abbotsford Police Department, the Chilliwack RCMP and the community of Abbotsford,” Cpl. Timothy Pierotti says.
