The school had asked all students who are not yet on campus to stay home.

“We ask that members of the public would avoid the area and follow police instructions,” said Suzanne Birch, spokesperson for the West Vancouver Police Department. “Neighbours can expect an increased police presence throughout the day.”

Just before 10 a.m., Chris Kennedy, the superintendent of West Vancouver Schools, told CityNews that the school had been given the “all clear.”

“We’re not in a position to comment. All the comments on the event would go through the West Vancouver Police Department,” Kennedy explained.
