Two people were taken to hospital and multiple others were treated after several passengers became ill on a BC Ferries vessel Saturday.
BC Ferries confirms six people became ill in a stairwell, requiring medical attention from paramedics.
A spokesperson says the passengers boarded the ship together before getting ill.
RCMP officers also responded.
A service notice posted to the BC Ferries website says the 1 p.m. sailing from Swartz Bay to Tsawwassen left 55 minutes behind schedule. According to the notice, other sailings are expected to be impacted.
“We expect the 3 p.m. departing Tsawwassen, the 5 p.m. departing Swartz Bay, and the 7 p.m. departing Tsawwassen to also be delayed,” it said in an update just before 2 p.m.
A spokesperson tells 1130 NewsRadio that the vessel was cleared, cleaned, and has resumed service.
